We've got a little nursery just to give the kitchen a little supplement. Strawberries will be great after winter, and we've got all kinds of salad vegetables, spring onions, broccoli, french beans and some grape vines going.
It's winter and the plants don't feel like growing much.
But we still managed to grab some fresh salad from the nursery.

ReplyDeleteDude, one plant you may want to consider planting is the passion fruit vine. First of all, it grows like crazy and secondly it's really hardy so you don't have to worry about it dying on you, thirdly it always gives you a bumper crop and passion fruits are still quite expensive in the supermarkets. You'll probably need a trellis for it to climb on though. I grew 2 varieties of passionfruit when I was in Perth =D

ReplyDeleteYo D! Yeah I forgot to tell u, we got passion fruits going also! Teeny weeny ones at the moment, but once spring hits, it'll start to grow like crazy.
Growing herbs and veggies in my backyard has always ended in withered plants, or seeds which refused to grow. I don't have a single green finger on me ... they'll probably die on me, more like.
