Dilemma

Reading all the past posts and comments in this blog has made me realised how much I miss blogging. Not only blogging in general, but blogging about food. There's so much I miss about blogging. I miss going around Singapore to source out good food, trying my bestest to take a photo to tempt your tastebuds. I miss writing, actually. Writing in a way to express my feeling at that moment towards the bowl of ramen sitting in front of me; priceless. Lastly, I miss being in the floggersphere; the comments etc.

You know the saying, "You only miss it when its gone"?. Well, I guess it rings true this time. My fingers are itching to do some typing, my tastebuds are dying to do some tasting. But the food in Perth is so limited. Of course, there IS good food to be found. However, the standard for a dish here is around AUD10 in food courts and around AUD30 in restaurants; something a student like me cannot afford that often (yes, I often pack food from home and its not uncommon for me to eat 6 slices of peanut butter and jelly a day just to keep from going hungry). For me, its more about not wanting to let you readers down. I don't want to start afresh, and halfway through, run out of places and food to blog about. It will just be another disappointment.

Plus, I'm in my 3rd year now (the toughest year they say), and I've managed to secure a position to do honours (which makes it even tougher). Oh god...

What I'm planning now, is to 'renovate' my blog, get a DSLR camera for better pictures, and then start again. However, due to my commitments, this may take quite awhile...

Ten days

12th July. Time flies, it really does. It feels like I had just started this blog only yesterday and yet, it is already coming to almost a year old now.

Yummie dummies was created out of our passion towards food, both my girlfriend and mine. Well, of course, it ended up with she being the one eating and giving reviews while I did all the writing (not to mention I ate a hell lot too). Not that I'm complaining though, because writing to me is as close to my heart as tasting and these two items fell into place naturally.

Hosting a food blog has its benefits. 1. You have an excuse to start going around tasting all the nice food around the island. 2. You meet alot of food blogging friends, which I did and enjoyed. 3. I love interacting with my readers and reading the comments on my blog.

Of course, there are always downsides like 1. OMG I didn't get to taste all the good food in Singapore!!! 2. OH CRAP I can't lose weight! 3. HOLY MAMA I can't get food outta my mind!!!

Yeah well, live with it, food blogging did kinda got me obsessed with food for a lil while there ya know, not very healthy aye? And I didn't get to try alot of good food in Singapore either but this blog was primarily opened to SHARE to good food I know so yeah, I guess my point hit home.

So since I'm ten days from leaving sunny Singapore, I'd figure I'll do a top 7 list of food I'd come to love in Singapore.

Stick around for that aye?

Poll #2: Getting to know you

When I first started this blog, my goal is simple and straight forward: Reach out to as many people as I can and share with them the places to find damn good food which Qin and I enjoy. Hence the banner slogan; Eat. Enjoy. Share. We eat the goodies, enjoy it to the fullest, and then share with you guys the experience and provide you the address so that you'll be able to enjoy it too!

Why would I wanna go through so much effort just to, tell people? Because I'm a foodie, that's why! Instead of feverishly trying to get my friends to try that super fantastic plate of hokkien mee I ate over the weekend, I figured I could tell more people by using a blog. And I've never seen a selfish foodie in my life because when a foodie finds a gem, he has to share it with people to let them enjoy it as well as he did. Well, that's how I am.

As my blog evolved from getting a puny handful of "passer bys" to the acceptable number of hits nowadays, there also happen to be more "regulars" who drop encouraging comments and good suggestions in this blog. Being a person who really likes to get to know people, I want to get to know my readers. Heck, I want to get to know you reading this right now!

So I'm just gonna start a series of polls with the first poll identifying the largest age group which frequent my blog the most. Gogogo!

The start of something

Hello Singapore!!! Due to my love and huge appetite for delicious and mouth watering food, I, as a self confessed foodie have decided to start a blog on the various heavenly food which can be found in Singapore. No doubt there may be already be many blogs advertising local fare, I just wish to do my part and share locations of the many good food places where my girlfriend and I have been to with my friends and family in order for them to enjoy too! :) I may not be a good writer, and my photos may even seem abit noobish, but sit back, relax, and maybe you’ll find out some great places to indulge over the weekend!
