Ohhh... This is it. Queenstown Poh Pia!

As we finished our meal and took a walk around the food centre, a handmade poh piah skin stall caught our eye but we didn't see any poh piahs being made, so dissapointed!

But as we walked on downstairs, we saw a small stall named Queenstown Poh Pia selling... well, poh piahs. I'm not sure if this was related to the stall upstairs but we gave it a go. Frankly speaking, we were quite dubious about the taste actually since we haven't really tasted any good poh piahs in Singapore yet.

Every poh piah goes for $1 each and they even have like DIY sets for 50 rolls. So if you're holding a party, you know where to go to.

Anyways, I popped one piece into my mouth and went something like Mmmmfuhk! Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm!!!, while staring wide eyed at Qin and nodding simultenously. Ohhh my Gawd! This poh piah is awesome! The flavours are all trapped inside the radish and when you bite into it, Hwah! The juice is heavenly. All the flavours combined really well and balanced each other, there was not a single ingredient which overwhelmed the poh piah.

Oh man, seriously, this is the best poh piah I've tasted so far. Even better than Qiji (which I think used too much sweet sauce which overwhelms the whole taste). The radish is really well cooked. Really super duper flavourful. I ate a piece then straight away went to buy a second roll. However, I felt that the chilli one doesn't hold up as well as the non-chilli one.

Uhmmm, this is one must try super poh piah.

Address:

Margaret Drive Food Centre
Queenstown Poh Pia (The stall is located at the furthest row near the stairwell beside the grass field)
A map of the location of the food centre can be found here.

This guy has been there like forever!
There is this crispy crispy thing inside his popiah that makes them taste special. I also like that his popiah is not soggy.
Oh! You mean it's still $1!! I think the size of the popiah has shrunk through the years just to maintain that price.

looks delish! i am always on the look for great popiah.

can i recommend two to you?

one is found in takashimaya basement. it is my favourite popiah! lots of crispy filling. very fat and generous. a lot of pple i know love it too!

another is in tangs basement. the special thing about this popiah is not really the filling, but the SKIN. the skin is an egg skin. it is like an egg crepe! not the traditional popiah skin! worth a try!

I'm with tjiana because I also like the popiah from Takashimaya Basement Food Hall. I always order it with less sauce and more chilli. Its chilli is so shiok man!

Qi Ji popiah is also very nice with less sauce and more chilli.

I've been wanting to try the popiah from Kway Guan Huat at Joo Chiat after reading this in one of the Sunday Times few months ago. The review sounds really good.
